meteomedia Inc. turns into UBIMET - meteomedia Inc. changes its name to UBIMET in order to appear consistently in the international market. UBIMET's aim for the years 2009 and 2010 is to gain ground in further countries and to continue the successful expansion.

Second place in the contest "GEWINN Young Entrepreneurs" 2007 - Michael Fassnauer is chosen one of the top three Austrian young entrepreneurs of the year 2007. In the awards ceremony, innovative strength, meteorological skills and customer focus are stressed as some of meteomedia's Inc. core competences.

The meteomedia Inc. team is strengthened with further experts from Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland and Sweden. The investments in the research and development section clearly pay off, because meteomedia Inc. wins two prizes:
* Safe and Secure Vienna 2006 - The nowcasting-based, individual and dynamic Severe Weather and Disaster Warning System (INDUS), which was developed by meteomedia Inc., is chosen the winning project of the subsidy contest „Safe & Secure Vienna 2006“ of the Centre for Innovation and Technology (ZIT), the technology promotion agency of the City of Vienna.
* Mercur 2006 - meteomedia Inc. receives the innovation prize of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna in the category Service Innovation for the severe weather warning system WIND IV.
May 2006
Development of a weather station network - meteomedia Inc. starts building up its own network of weather stations in Austria. The first two stations are set up in Pielach and Hollenthon in the eastern part of Austria.
October 2004
UNIQA receives severe weather warnings - UNIQA is the first insurance company to offer its customers severe weather warnings via SMS and e-mail. The concept is successful, and at the end of the year, about 100.000 Austrians are registered to receive warnings of severe weather for their exact postal code area.

Foundation of the Severe Weather Centre in Austria - The Severe Weather Centre Austria issues severe weather warnings around the clock. For the first time, severe weather warnings that are customized to every individual postal code area are offered on the Austrian market.

Largest private weather service in Austria - Just a few months after its foundation, meteomedia Inc. Austria supplies well-known clients like the German Press Agency (dpa) with weather information on a daily basis.

Establishment of meteomedia Inc. - Together with the Swiss weather service meteomedia AG, Michael Fassnauer and Manfred Spatzierer start up meteomedia gmbh in Austria.
