A map on the webpage www.unwetterzentrale.at shows all the active warnings. Information about affected districts as well as about the type and intensity of the expected severe weather is available free of charge. Additionally, registered users have access to more detailed information.
This service is possible thanks to sophisticated information and communication technology. UBIMET has a unique Content Management System, which was developed together with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Software and System Technology (ISST). With this CMS, it is possible to send severe weather warnings to thousands of users simultaneously, quickly and individually for their specific postal code area, via sms, e-mail and fax.
At the moment, the Severe Weather Centre Austria provides more than 250.000 individuals, about 60% of the Austrian municipalities as well as numerous companies and public authorities with high-resolution severe weather warnings.
