Vienna, November 11, 2016 – Sao Paulo, Brazil will host the twentieth Formula 1 race of the season this weekend. UBIMET is the official meteorological service provider, delivering high- precision weather information for the teams and spectators. The weather conditions for the week look fairly warm with an enhanced risk for showers during the day.

On Saturday, we expect overcast conditions during the morning hours with a few isolated breaks in the clouds also possible during the early morning. Skies will remain grey as the day progresses with a strengthening wind from the south/southeast. Along with the overcast skies, light rain and drizzle will be possible throughout the afternoon and during qualifying. Saturday will also feel much cooler than the previous day, with a high temperature reaching only 21 C.

As a new low pressure system approaches, light rainfall or drizzle will be possible throughout much of the day on Sunday, with chances for intermittent periods of moderate rainfall also not out of the question. There is still a bit of uncertainty concerning the exact timing of rainfall, but we currently believe that periods of light intermittent rainfall will also be possible during the race period. Winds will switch southeast to east throughout the day and the high will reach around 20 C.
