Spielberg isn’t left out in the rain by UBIMET
The expert for detailed weather information is pleased to provide the small village in Styria with highly accurate weather forecasts via www.wetter.tv. Mainly known for Formula 1 races, Spielberg is part of the Murtal, a popular holiday region. The area offers a broad range of leisure activities for every taste - from various cultural highlights, as for example the Spielberg Music Festival, to wellness programs for men and women as well as numerous excursion destinations like Europe’s highest Treetop Hiking Route in Rachau.
Murtal revitalized by Formula 1
The must-see of the region is the Österreichring. Opened in 1969, it is the racetrack where Formula 1 pilots like Jochen Rindt, Niki Lauda and Gerhard Berger made race history. In 2003 it has been closed for eight years, before it was revived by Red Bull. Now in 2014, the Formula 1 returns.
Will the Bull remain dry in 2014?
From June, 19th to 22nd, the Austrian Grand Prix takes place on the 4.3 kilometres long Red Bull Ring. Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel attack the racetrack, which is popular for its extreme differences in elevation - maximum uphill grade 12%, maximum downhill grade 9.3% - around the 17-metre-high bull made out of stainless steel. Whether the route will be wet or dry this year, UBIMET announces in time.
