EWC rebranded UBIMET

EWC becomes UBIMET:

More International Power for Karlsruhe-based Weather Service Provider

  • New positioning in international competition for higher standards in the weather market
  • Quality and information advantage through international scope
  • UBIMET is the supplier of leading German airports

Karlsruhe, 29 November 2017. On 08 November 2017, the Karlsruhe-based weather service provider EWC Weather Consult GmbH was rebranded to UBIMET GmbH, after being a UBIMET Group member since 2015. EWC, a traditional company with an excellent reputation within the German market, has joined forces with UBIMET to increase internationally expansion whilst maintaining market dominance in Germany.

For Michael Fassnauer, founder and CEO of the UBIMET Group in Vienna, the UBIMET office in Germany forms a central milestone in the company history. “EWC is now called UBIMET. The enormous investments over the last couple of years in our infrastructure benefit UBIMET and facilitates hyperlocal, real-time information as a powerful information base for weather-dependent industries in Germany. UBIMET operates a highly precise global lightning detection network, a competence centre for severe weather warnings and the professional weather application Weather Cockpit®. Recently we managed to win the tender of the German Association of Public Insurers VöV for the WIND (Weather Information on Demand) project.“

The Managing Director for Germany Alexander Lehmann considers the rebranding process the next logical step for a stronger international brand: Over many years we have defined our pioneering role as the expert for weather-dependent companies in Germany, especially in the insurance and energy sector. Together with UBIMET, we will succeed in securing and further strengthening our long-term quality and market leadership. The UBIMET-Group, however, has so much more to offer. We will actively market the entire UBIMET portfolio within Germany, including in the construction industry, at airports, in the infrastructure segment and in retail, i.e. precisely those fields in which UBIMET has been successfully operating internationally for many years.“ He is convinced that the same name and branding will further strengthen growth both nationally and internationally. Alexander Lehmann emphasises that customer satisfaction continues to be the top priority and this will continue with the new name. “With the strength of an internationally successful company, we will continue to expand our already very high data and quality standards and define new standards within the weather market for German companies both nationally and internationally.“

A new name and a common brand presence will consequently also result in a new domain. All information about UBIMET weather solutions is available at: www.ubimet.com.

The former EWC Weather Consult GmbH will showcase its energy product portfolio for the first time as UBIMET at the E-World Energy & Water exhibition from 06 to 08. February 2018 in Essen, in hall 3 at stand 531.
